Contexto is a free daily word guessing game. There is a secret word and you have to find it. After each guess, you are told how semantically close your word is to the secret word — rank 1 means you found the answer.

How does Contexto work?

Every word in the dictionary has been ranked by its semantic similarity to the secret word using AI embeddings. When you guess a word, you see its rank. Lower rank means you are closer to the answer. Rank 1 is the secret word itself.

How often does the Contexto daily puzzle reset?

A new Contexto puzzle is available every day at midnight UTC. You can also play Unlimited mode for a new random word any time.

Is Contexto free to play?

Yes, Contexto is completely free to play. You can play the daily puzzle and unlimited mode without an account. Creating an account lets you track your stats and appear on the daily leaderboard.

Can I play Contexto with friends?

Yes! Contexto has a multiplayer Rooms feature. Create a room, share the 6-digit code with your friends, set a secret word, and race to see who finds it first.

1. Our Position on Copyright

Contexto respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects everyone who uses https://www.contextogame.online to do the same. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

The game on this site — its interface, written content, word selection, hint system, and ranking implementation — was built independently by us. Contexto is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any other game, application, or website that uses a similar name. If you believe any material here infringes a copyright you own or control, tell us using the process below and we will act on it promptly.

2. Filing a Takedown Notice

To report material you believe is infringing, send a written notice to our designated contact (see section 4). To be effective under the DMCA, your notice must include all of the following:

A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are covered by a single notice, provide a representative list.
Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it — a direct URL on this site is the most reliable form.
Your contact information: full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.

Incomplete notices may delay our response. Please note that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees.

3. How We Respond

When we receive a valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the material in question, make a reasonable effort to notify whoever provided it, and keep a record of the notice. Removal is not an admission of liability, and we may reinstate material if we receive a valid counter-notification.

We aim to acknowledge every properly submitted notice within a few business days. Because this site is run by a very small team, please allow a little time for a substantive reply.

4. Where to Send Notices

Send DMCA notices and counter-notifications to support@contextogame.online with “DMCA Notice” in the subject line. You can also reach us through our contact page. Please use this address only for copyright matters — general gameplay questions sent here will be answered more slowly than those sent through the normal support route.

5. Counter-Notification

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send us a counter-notification containing:

Your physical or electronic signature.
Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before it was removed.
A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
Your name, mailing address, and telephone number, together with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.

If we receive a valid counter-notification, we may restore the removed material in 10 to 14 business days unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity in question.

6. Repeat Infringers

We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers. We may also limit access to the site for anyone who repeatedly submits material that infringes the rights of others.
